Ubacity - Council Websites

While working at Captovate in Darwn, Australia, I was the lead designer on the development of Ubacity, a product targeting local Governing Councils.
My role was to design a council website that would be sold as a complete platform, packed with revolutionary user experience functionally.

The second stage of the project was to design and develop a fictional Council brand named ‘City of Walla Bay’ to present the product with.
Take a look at the Marketing site here.

The most crucial part of Ubacity was the development of effective user journeys. After weeks of research we created a system which differentiated content for the task driven users, and inquisitive browsers. We did this by removing all header navigation on the homepage, and replaced it with an action panel. A tool which helps users find the council services they are looking for. Then for the casual browsers who may be looking to get to know the district and it’s community will naturally scroll down, and there they will find the broadcast wall. A collection of news stories, events and other article content.
